Walking among giants
In the spring of 2025, I walked among the Sierra Western Junipers that tower along the Pacific Crest Trail on a rocky slope in the mountains. These giants stand at an elevation over 8000 feet. The air was crisp and the sun was sparkled off the distant snow patches. The wind whirled between the bark and branches. I sat and observed all the weathering those trees had endured. It is here that I’m able to rekindle a sense of a child’s wonder.
As you walk, stop and listen. It is never about the destination.
